First trimester pregnancy sickness

The feeling of wanting to vomit had long begone after the 6th week of pregnancy. Now, coming into week 10th of pregnancy, I feel not too bad overall, except feeling less responsive & lack of appetite. The worst part is you know you should be eating well but nothing seems appealing. If you don't eat, you might faint due to low blood sugar. I experience once and I freaked out. From then onwards, I dare not skip my breakfast. I really nearly fainted and I had to lie on the table for at least half an hour to recover while eating something. Yoke Peng then told me that if it happens again next time, drink a milo or some glucose for instant boost because food will take sometime to digest and become sugar in your blood. Though feeling chilly at times, especially during evenings, I didn't vomit like most women during their pregnant & hope I won't experience this later on.

Every morning, I wake up, I've to becareful not to stretch too much. Otherwise, I'd feel slight piercing pain around my abdomen. Every night, I'd wake up at least twice when ZY toss & turn or when I need to go to the toilet.

So far, almost every evening, I feel tired and sometimes needed a rest before I could shower. But everytime, after shower, I'd feel much better. Sometimes, my buttock feels painful too. Maybe due to my growing pelvic bones to support my growing baby. If I feel drowsy in the morning at office, standing up and walk in a place helps. Drinking 100 Plus makes me feel better too in the morning. However, I tried to limit that to twice a week. Drinking plain water has been difficult since last few weeks because it tasted awful. I'd tell myself to have 1 sip every 5 minutes & I must finish my whole bottle of water. Eating fruits too makes me feel bloated and drowsy. So, it's difficult to eat them too especially apple & oranges. I do like prunes at some point. Hmm...sometimes I wish it'll be July tomorrow or I become teenager again because most teenager don't have pregnancy symptoms at all and don't even know when they got pregnant. :P

I only manage to eat my vitamins after dinner every night. They taste awful. I'd stop breathing after I swallow them or take something sour to suck.

From 6th week till about 8th week, I've been eAting mostly fast food. But since last 2 weeks, my appetite changed and I prefer dry chinese food, i.e. white dry rice, fried chicken & some vege. The portion that I take is not alot compare to before I wasn't pregnant but it's better than nothing.

During 6th week till 8th week, I feel hungry every 3 hours. I had oat biscutes, cheese bread & oat.

I'm writting this so that when er jie is pregnant, I can share with her my experience of my 2nd pregnancy (incase I forgotten all about it when she's pregnant). I hope she'll get pregnant soon. God bless her please... and my friends who hopes to get pregnant too.

Tweedle Wink

Before I forgotten all about Tweedle Wink, I thought I should write down here what's being taught in the class for anyone who's interested in sending their child to Tweedle Wink.

The class begins with  "I Love You" song.

You are my child, I love you so,
just look in my eyes and you will know,
You make me smile, you make me sing,
I know with love you can do anything.

Next, teacher will show the children a changing black and white picture on the TV.

Then, all the children will be given an optical pen to point to each of their eyes with the help of their parent. Just 3 seconds for each eye..

Sometimes, instead of optical pen, the teacher will show the children a cute toy which can make sounds. She'll move it here & there for eyes practice session.

In each class, teacher will cover different category. For eg, different types of horses, cats or dogs. Then teacher teaches them parts of the world on the map & globe, also 1 foreign language in 1 class, music, math, phonics, reading, basic science & famous art.

The part I love most is the music session. Teacher shows them a piece of music on the TV with the music played. After that she takes out the tuning fork to introduce certain notes to them or sometimes, she takes out a card with few music notes on it then asks the children to paste the notes accordingly. They also use rhythm sticks to learn to tap according to the music.

Phonics part, teacher will introduce 1 letter. Show on the TV how it's written while singing a song. Then ask the children to write on their piece of card. Later, teacher will show them few words starting with that letter and take out a toy to represent the word.

The math part, teacher will show dots & say the numbers on the TV. Then followed by addition, multiplication, division, subtraction on TV then using her cards.

There's also a session to play with the yoga ball for about 5 minutes.

Lastly, the class will end with a good bye song:
(can't remember well, i think it's something like this..:S)
Now it's time to say good bye,
everytime we do we set others free,
we learn to sing, to dance, to play with joy, big joy, great joy..

..and they hug teacher before leaving the room...

Right Brain Prenatal Education

I stumbled upon an interesting article today which I couldn't resist to post it here as a reminder to all my friends & myself the importance of mothers emotions during pregnancy.

The article says:

If you want to practice prenatal right brain education, the fundamental principle is to communicate love to your baby.  Here’s an excerpt from Quantum Speed Reading by Yumiko Tobitani talking about the importance of prenatal education:
The fetus grows inside amniotic fluid that is like sweet and sour seawater.  In this fluid, the fetus sucks its fingers, yawns, and sloshes about.  The normal pH of amniotic fluid is about 7.8.  But the pH can change.  For example, if the mother decides to go shopping and forgets her purse, the ensuing tension is enough to drop the pH to 5 in a couple of seconds.  A marital quarrel and its emotional energy are enough to drop the level down to 3 in a flash. These pH level decreases mean that there is more acidity in the amniotic fluid.  The baby in the womb is happily sucking on a finger and suddenly the taste becomes sour.  The amniotic fluid ceases to be a relaxing environment comfortable to the baby, and so its body stiffens up.
At the same time, the baby hears the sounds of mother’s beating heart, the pulsing sound of her blood flowing, her bones squeaking and creaking – all as a kind of background music.  However, when the mother gets emotional, her beating heart speeds up, as does her blood circulation.  The creaking of the bones gets harsher.  Amidst this noise pollution and acidic amniotic fluid is no place for a mind to develop.  This is the reason why prenatal education is so important.

What Can You Do?
Talk to your baby.  Fathers, too.  For instance, when Dad is heading off to work, he can face Mum’s belly and say, “Ok, I’m off to the office now!”
The Mozart Effect
While we’re on the topic of prenatal education, I think we need to address the topic of The Mozart Effect.  I think most of us who have done any reading on prenatal education will probably have come across The Mozart Effect.  If you haven’t, it is essentially this: play Mozart for your baby and it will increase his IQ.  And if you’ve done your research thoroughly, you would also have read that The Mozart Effect has been debunked.  That said, playing music while your baby is in the womb still has its benefits…
Babies Remember
Babies recognise musical pieces that they have heard before while they were in the womb.  In fact, it has been found that babies listening to music they heard while they were in the womb tend to calm down more easily because they are soothed by the familiar music.
Here’s another example of the effect of playing music while your baby is still in your womb…  It is an excerpt from Brain Rules for Baby by John Medina:

But once babies can perceive inputs like sounds and smells, starting around the second half of the pregnancy, they become precisely attuned to them.  And they subconsciously remember. Sometimes it’s spooky, as legendary conductor Boris Brott discovered one day.
“It just jumped out at me!” Brott exclaimed to his mother. Brott had been at the podium of a symphony orchestra, conducting a piece of music for the first time, when the cellist began to play. He instantly knew he’d heard this piece before. This was no casual reminder of some similar but forgotten work: Brott could predict exactly what musical phrase was coming next. He could anticipate the flow of the entire work during the course of the rehearsal; he knew how to conduct it even when he lost his place in the score.
Freaking out, he called his mother, a professional cellist. She asked for the name of the piece of music, then burst out laughing. It was the piece she had been rehearsing when she was pregnant with him. The cello was up against her late-pregnancy mid-abdomen, a structure filled with sound conducting fluids, fully capable of relaying musical information to her unborn son. His developing brain was sensitive enough to record the musical memories. “All the scores I knew by sight were the ones she had played while she was pregnant with me”, Brott later said in an interview.
Babies do remember and it isn’t just the vague memory of something familiar.  Even more amazing than this is Tobitani’s example of one child’s revelation to his parents one evening as he was beginning to grow sleepy and his brain began to shift to alpha wave patterns:
It was such a time that a child from one family said, “Mum, I remember talking to Dad when I was inside your tummy.  I saw him from inside.  And I saw two chimneys.”  Because the family had moved just before this child was born, there was no way he could have seen the chimneys after birth.  From the apartment where the family lived while he was in the womb, two chimneys could indeed be seen. When his mother asked how he knew about those chimneys, he replied, “Because I saw them from inside your tummy!”
When Should You Start?
According to John Medina, it is only in the second half of pregnancy that babies begin to perceive stimuli from the external world so somewhere around the fifth month is a good time to start.  However, regarding right brain prenatal education, it’s never too early to start doing what you can to keep the womb environment as stress-free as possible.  In other words, Mum needs to take care of herself and keep the stress levels as low as possible.

Different Blood Type & Character

Actually, these comics have been all over the internet for sometime. But I couldn't resist to post them here so that I can read them whenever I'm bored. They're just too funny!

Wrong Calculation! What a nut I am!

I thought I missed my period few days only and was wondering why the symptoms came to me so soon compared to my first pregnancy. Who knows, after carefull calculation, in actual fact, it had already past 1 week and it was coming to the end of 2nd week when I did the home pregnancy test. No wonder I started to have the symptoms already that time.

What a stupid nut I am!

Anyway, hubby accompanied me to see doc today to check on our baby. We're glad that doc detected its heart beat. The first time I went, it was too early to detect its heart beat. This week, I'm 7 weeks & 5 days pregnant. I could see the little water sag & the tiny little thing. Doc said she could see that it wriggled a little. Hehe, so cute. Hubby could also see the baby's heart beating. It looks like a star twinling. It was too tiny for me to see as I was lying there and the screen is not close enough for me to see clearly.

Thing my sis bought for me.. :D!

These are the things my sis bought for me this morning for her little nephew (not sure of the gender yet actually but we feel that we're getting a boy this round)

Because pregnant lady needs to watch their sugar intake, I ordered to buy oat biscuits instead of normal biscuits. Hehehe!
This essence of Chicken with Cordycept & wild ginseng is supposed to make me feel healthier...

Sweet...hehehe!!

Accident

Had an accident on my way home yesterday evening. I bang the bumper of a taxi. It was an indian driver. Luckily he was very nice & didn't make a fuss. I told him to write down my number & he then gave me his card. His bumper needs to be changed & his car boot needs some knocking job. He can't close his car boot. Initially I asked him to meet me at my mechanic at Puchong. Then I changed my mind this morning and told him to get a quotation from the mechanic near his place (Klang). He called me after he got a mechanic and told me the cost would be less than RM300. I requested from the mechanic for a discount and his last offer was RM250 for the job. So, after he's finished his job, i'll then bank in the money to his account. That settles everything. I'm glad I don't have to see the taxi driver again. It's a night mare. I woke up 4:30am this morning to go to the toilet & couldn't sleep after that thinking about this accident. Now i'm feeling so tired. I hope i won't feel too tired later to drive home.

Feeling nausea since Friday...

Although there were episodes of nausea, I didn't thought I'd get pregnant this round either. However, the syptoms were obvious on Thursday morning when I went to the mamak stalls near my office to buy a pack of noodles for my 2nd round of breakfast. It was like what I experienced during my first pregnancy; at one time I felt like eating that particular food, but the next minute, I don't....right after getting the food. So, that night, after having dinner with mom & sis, I checked out the price of the pregnancy test kit at the nearest clinic. It's like RM15 for 1. Forget it! So, we went home. While having my shower, I was still thinking about it. Should I wait till next week to check? Then until at last, I couldn't hold myself anymore and went straight out to get a test kit after finished taking my shower. The children followed me along with Yani. We passed by a "Yong Tau Fu" restaurant and that made me want to vomit. I couldn't even have another glance at it. That made me more convinced that I probably could be pregnant. Hehehe!! First, I checked the price at one of the pharmacy behind Guardian. The price is about RM10 for 1 test kit. So, forget it!. At last, I decided maybe I should go Guardian and check it out. I manage to get 1 box which contains 2 test kit and it only cost me RM15.90. Cheap & probably good enough I thought.
Upon reaching home, I told the children I needed to go to toilet to do my big business (poop), hahah!! Hwa was observing actually. She knew what i was about to do. I went straight to the toilet & read through the instructions impatiently, peed in the tray provided & put the tip of the test kit in to soak. Slowly, I saw a red clear line...then another blur line started to show...and it became clearer & clearer... I was half holding my breath looking at the strip to watch out for 2 lines. Then I took the instruction box to double check again. Yup, I think I'm pregnant! I thought of giving daddy a surprise but I couldn't hold my excitement. I called him immediately. He was on his way home. I didn't carpool with him that Thursday because he needed to use the car to go Putrajaya for a meeting. Then I ran downstairs excitedly to announce the news. Sis was right down there & bro in law was there too. I got them to congratulate me & told them that I'm pregnant! :D Sis said she thought so and she'd been praying for me this month too. Next day, I went to see doctor to confirm. I'm 5 weeks pregnant! It's only 2.5cm big now. Can you see the tiny black rectangle shaped thingy?

The symptoms came very early for this 2nd pregnancy compared to my first pregnancy. During my first pregnancy, I could only detect during the 2nd week after my mensus due date.

A session with my girl's teacher

Last Saturday, we went to the kindergarden to collect her progress card. Our slot was scheduled at 11am. Her absent rate was very high. Her attendance was 78/100. It's because whenever she falls sick, I'd keep her at home so she can rest & get well quickly.

Her teacher said she can hold a pencil accurately. She's able to control her finger muscles well i.e. while holding the pencil, sufficient pressure is placed on the paper when writting. She's an out-going child, very chatty & responsive (& loud... :S). Whenever she's called to do something, she'd respond, "Yes, you called me? I'm coming now.."..or.."Teacher, you see, I'm writting now. I'm a good girl."...  whereas other children will just quietly do as told without saying anything. So, one of the teacher likes to call her all the time. She's able to recognise A-Z Caps & small letters....except Y & y. She could write Caps A to G but not any of the small letters, & 1-10 in english but not in Mandarin. Teacher said it's due to her high absent rate and I need to teach her more at home.

While I was talking to her teachers, she was playing with my iPhone. Her principal saw that and watched her play. She was very impressed that she could play so well on the "Angry Bird" game. Hahaha!!

Steamboat on rainy day

We had steamboat with mom, sis & her boyfriend at Harbour Steamboat last night. Luckily we're there early because not long after that, the place was crowded with people.

We ordered 2 types of soup i.e. the herbal soup & the tomyan soup. IT WAS YUMMY!!!

There are 3 types of dips & the chillies altogether to add more taste to your steamed food....really "yummilicious"!!

This sourish drink is really a good thirst quencher. It's a must have if you ever visit this place.

I like their special dumpling alot. It tastes so nice with the tomyam soup

The pictures on the wall shows different kinds of soup & some side dishes they have.

Dinner at Otak-Otak Place

We're suppose to meet up at 7:30pm. I only managed to reach there around 8pm. It was quite difficult to find a parking space at IOI Boulevard. I didn't want to park at the basement carpark as it's always seems so quiet & I was alone.
Mui was there eating nasi lemak already when I arrived. Shane only arrived when we're about to finish all the food. I was so hungry that I ordered 1 BBQ chicken rice, 1 rojak & 3 chicken wings. I was thinking to share the rojak & chicken wings of course... (*eyes rolling)
The BBQ chicken rice wasn't bad. The chicken meat was tender & sweet BBQ sauce was nice. It's quite a big serving for 1 person.

As for the rojak, the sauce wasn't thick enough. It was a little watery. However, it didn't taste too bad.

The chicken wings were alright. It comes in 3 pieces. I had two & Mui had one. That's why I'm growing side ways. I need to go on a diet...seriously.

Mui bought this delicious cheese cake from RT pastry house. IT WAS SUPER DUPER DELICIOUS!!
We were too full to finish the whole cake. So, Mui got a box from the restaurant & packed some for me to bring home.

Can you see the many taps on the wall??? Hahaha!!

Mui bought 2 refrigerator magnets from Maldives & she couldn't decide whether to give the turtle to me or to Shane. We were not allowed to see the magnets. So at last, we used the "Happy Family" cards to draw for our souvenir. You can find this cards on every table in this restaurant.

So...I got this turtle. I just kept quiet. I'm scared actually...:''( ....BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE LIZARD!! So, i quickly put it aside and thought I could hold myself from expressing my fear... until at last... "I MUST SAY THIS.....I AM ACTUALLY REALLY SCARED OF THIS TURTLE BECAUSE IT LOOKS ABIT LIKE A LIZARD!!"
They laughed... :S... Then Shane was kind enough to exchange with me. I felt terribly sorry..

We thought we should take photos for every outing from  now onwards...so here they are..

The newly weds, one on 10th Oct & another on 11th Nov....Congrates!! I'm happy for both of you.

Skyhigh charges for SPA & Loan agreement!!

It's crazy ... :S...RM10,000 for Sales & Purchase agreement & RM5,600 for loan agreement. "Faint"..

Last Sunday, my friend & I went to view a condo in Cyberjaya. It's called D'Melor. The place is beautiful. It's like a villa with lots of greeneries and a beautiful swimming pool. There're only 120 units in that condo. So, it's not crowded at all & mostly occupied by foreigners. I can imagine I'd be very happy staying there. I love the swimming pool & the little pretty fountain at the side of the pool. The place is so peaceful and quiet. However, it's not very close to any big shopping malls. But.. we're told that a new shopping mall would be up in year 2013, about 500 meters away from this condo. It was her 2nd time to view the place & she still loved it. So, without hesitating, she paid a deposit of 2.1% to the property agent.

Now, she's searching high & low for the best deal. I gave her one of my lawyers contact. Hmm..Hopefully the lawyers would give her a good rate.

Lesson for today....buy a cheaper condo or get a quotation from the lawyers before deciding to buy an expensive property!

Tonight, daddy's coming back from Singapore. Hehe. Baby will be so happy to see him. Tomorrow is parents day. We'll have to rush to school after Tweedle Wink class... :S....The one thing I'm looking forward to is getting info about how my girl, how she behaves or mingles with other children in school. Also, to be able to see & order those pictures & videos of her taken by the teachers in school & during their concert last month. Then at night, I'll be meeting my secondary school friends. I'm so happy... :D!!

Addicted to iPhone4

Almost every night, before I sleep, I'm glued to my iPhone4. I'm either in the Facebook or searching for some information or checking my mail.  Last night, I was glued till about 1:30am. Hmm.. I must stop doing this. It's bad for my skin. So, this morning I woke up looking really tired.

Baby also got addicted to iPhone4. Everyday when we reach home, the first thing she'd say is "Mommy, I want iPhone". Duhh... :S

Just a short story of what happened last night :-

Last night, after baby fell asleep, coincidentally, daddy called. He was very disappointed as he didn't get to talk to baby. Told him that she was missing him badly until she sat alone 3 feet away from the toilet door by herself with a sad face. Initially she checked if daddy's in the toilet. Looking very disappointed, she just sat there by herself with her eyes just looking down. Sounds a little drama right? So I went over to asked her if she wants me to turn back on the lights and we could read some books. She said yes. Then she was alright again.

Daddy's not in town

Daddy has gone to Singapore and will only be back on Friday. I already miss him since morning when I dropped him off at his office. If it wasn't because I've ran out of leave, I would have followed him. Anyway, he said he'd call me tonight to chat. Well, I can only chat provided baby has gone to sleep and not playing with my iPhone4. He would be buying few more iPhone4's casing for me from Mustafa tonight.... Yay!!

Now it's 6:30pm & I'm still in the office. Feel so tired to drive home and so sleepy :S. Tonight I'll be having dinner with erjie & mom, not sure if Hwa'll join us. I guess I better get going now.. : (..yawnn.....
